The Lowry 1997–2000
It was the mid 90s and lottery money was being spent up and down the country on landmark cultural buildings in time for the new millennium. At Salford Quays it was The Lowry, an impressive waterside arts centre designed by Michael Wilford and Partners.
As well as the physical construction Grant also documented the behind the scenes activities: architects at work, steelworkers in their factories, and graphic designers turning out logo ideas.
