The Bridgewater Hall 1993 -1996
Almost concurrently with the Arena at Victoria Station, I was commissioned by Manchester City Council to photograph the building of a new international concert venue at the city's southern gateway.
Later named The Bridgewater Hall it became instrumental in the redevelopment of that part of the city centre, spurring the creation of new offices, restaurants and residential developments.
The subsequent publication, Built to Music, the making of the Bridgewater Hall, has become a document of urban renewal and a record of the first new civic building in Manchester for 60 years.
